GENERAL PRECARE
1. NO CAFFEINE ON THE DAY OF THE PROCEDURE
- Caffeine is a stimulant that reduces the effectiveness of anesthetic.
2. NO MAKEUP ON THE DAY OF THE PROCEDURE
- Please be aware that we will remove your makeup to determine a suitable color based on your skin color and undertones. Therefore, it’s highly recommended that you show up without makeup.
3. NO SUN AND TANNING 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE PROCEDURE
- Sunburned or Suntanned skin is damaged skin and therefore, it causes excessive bleeding.
4. NO ALCOHOL OR PAIN MEDICATIONS 2 DAYS PRIOR TO THE PROCEDURE
- Alcohol can thin your blood which results in bleeding and poor retention.
- Do not take pain medications that are blood thinners such as Advil, Aleve, Neproxin, Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Midol, Fish Oil, Vitamin E, etc. These cause bleeding, which results in bruising and poor color retention.
- Please consult with your physician before stopping any prescribed medical treatments.
5. NO CHEMICAL PEELS, MICRODERMABRASION OR FACIALS AND LASER TREATMENT 30 DAYS PRIOR TO THE PROCEDURE
- After undergoing chemical peel or laser peel, your treated skin would be ultimately sensitive and thin that might result in redness, tightness, and swellingness. During this time, cosmetic tattoo procedure would not be recommended as it could cause pain and your skin would have higher chances of an allergic reaction.
- Retinol/Vitamin A, Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) must be discontinued. These products enhance your blood flow to the treated area and skin sensitivity which result in bruising and bleeding.
6. NO BOTOX OR FILLER 2 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE PROCEDURE
- It is best to have your cosmetic tattoo procedures done first, then Botox/Filler after. You can proceed with Botox 4 weeks after your procedure.
- In case if you have already had Botox done, you will need to wait at least 2 months then proceed with the procedure.
7. CONTRAINDICATIONS
You are not a good candidate for cosmetic tattoo procedures if any of the following applies to you:
- Pregnant or nursing: the procedure, however, could be performed after breastfeeding stops.
- Diabetes: make sure you have your doctor’s permission to get the procedure.
8. MEDICAL AND COSMETIC PROCEDURES
- If you are considering or in the process of facelift or eyelift procedures, it is highly recommended to have it done prior to cosmetic tattoo procedures. Having it done post-cosmetic tattoo procedure would cause the shape of eyebrows/lips/eyeliner to become asymmetrical.
- The technician is required to anchor her hands on your face to give better stretching in order to implant pigment in the skin. Therefore, you should be fully healed from any previous medical procedures before considering cosmetic tattooing of any kind.
- Having cosmetic tattooing done in your recovery downtime is not a wise choice.
